Happy Halloween: Then & Now

Happy Halloween everyone! You've seen pictures of Quinn in her Halloween costume, but here she is in her Halloween outfit!

I thought it would be fun to see Quinn's Halloween photo from last year. Same chair, same cute girl and a similar cute outfit from G.G., but other than that so much has changed!

Tigers say Roar!

We have a tiger on our hands for Halloween this year! We wanted something where you could tell what she was without her hat on and from past videos, you know she can tell you that a tiger says "roar." Plus, that tiger outfit goes so well with her hair! ;)

We spent most of Halloween weekend with the Bemis family. First the parents rocked Hollywood Halloween on Friday, then the Bemis kids came over to play on Saturday. See below with Quinn saying "cheese," Ben (Mickey Mouse) checking her out, Josie (Spiderman) being silly and Will (Penguin) with his best friend, Millie. Such a good play date!

Then tonight for Beggar's Night (our trick-or-treating night in Des Moines) we had pizza at the Beemer's then went out for candy-grabbing fun. But first, Quinn had to show her tiger dominance with the boys' dinosaur. ROAR!

Spaghetti!

It seems like it's a right of passage for any toddler to eat spaghetti. Orange face, noodles in the hair, the whole bit. Well Quinn finally had that day last week. We were just happy (and surprised!) that she wanted to eat meat. Luckily we got her dress off her in time to save it from needing a massive amount of spray-n-wash. But messy shirt or messy baby, we just had fun watching Quinn enjoy her food!

Power Out = Dinner Out

The power was out in our neighborhood when we got home from work/school today. We hung out in the dimness for awhile, but then we got hungry and it started to get dark so it was off to Isla Cozumel, our new favorite Mexican restaurant!

At 6:30 we were literally their only customers so Quinn go special treatment. She said "hi" to all three waiters repeatedly and fortunately got her food super-fast.

She might not be smiling in the picture above, but trust me, once she got in that highchair she had a wonderful time. Not just because of all the attention from our waiters, but also because she discovered salsa. First we gave it to her on a chip, but then she decided it was so good it should be eaten straight!

Once we were done with our Mexican feasts, Quinn gave all our waiters big hugs. They loved her so much they even gave her a lollipop! (Don't worry, she didn't get to eat it!) So while we might have lost our power for awhile, we did gain a bunch of fun at a great local restaurant!

Fall in Iowa

It's fall in Iowa which means up and down temps! Yesterday we were outside with just a jacket and today we had to bundle Miss Quinn up!

She was especially talkative yesterday. Her vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds. She also has some new animal noises too. She can now tell us what a dog, frog and duck can say in addition to her other barnyard sounds. And we're still working on those colors. She can consistently point out pink (that's my girl!) and is pretty good on blue, yellow and green too.

Cheese!

Hello Quinn fans! This is probably your one and only post this week. (Two major events plus La Cage au Folles and a firm party! Quinn's got busy 'rents!)

But despite the jam-packed week I got to spend tonight with Miss Quinn. She's an absolute ball of fun and she's learning her colors too! Tonight she identified a blue, pink and orange ball. I was so amazed!

Here's our little ham cheesin' it up at dinner.

I don't think I've ever seen a cuter kid with a mouth full of food. And for those of you keeping track of Quinn's clothes journal, don't worry she's not wearing purple. Her dress is really navy, but looks a crazy purple from my iPhone. :)

Thursday Treats

We stopped for an ice cream treat at DQ tonight. At first Quinn didn't want any, but she warmed up to it quite quickly!

What's that noise?

Quinn was in an especially silly mood tonight and kept making this funny screaming noise. We then tried to use the noise to improve her tiger roar. (We've gotta get it big for Beggar's Night!)

Toddler Tuesday

In an attempt to bring you more Quinn blog posts, here's a pic of our little toddler from this evening. It was a gorgeous day in Iowa, so we hung outside tonight. We had two wagon rides and Quinn also learned how to climb onto the bench seats on the deck (for better or worse).

Quinn had a fun weekend in Alexandria with her Grandma & Grandpa, and now she's ready for a good week at school! She was posing for us this morning in her little school girl outfit complete with knee high socks and new shoes. Happy Monday everyone!
