Family Time

Quinn was a lucky girl and got to see a lot of her family this week! Grandma Nan was AMAZING and came to stay with Quinn while she was sick for a few days and then the Coffmans were here this weekend to see Hairspray (and my Des Moines stage debut!).

Grandma Nan snuggled her while she got over her virus and fought the pain of teething, but they also had some fun too. Grandma took Quinn on some morning walks and they even went shopping together. Grandma got to hear a lot of Quinn's new words and play with all of her cool new toys.

Then Friday night the Coffmans rolled into town. Quinn was soooo excited to see Papa. We can't quite explain it, but she is enamored with her Papa Dave. Papa, GG & Uncle E all had fun watching Quinn run around, play with her pool of balls and search for Papa.

I've been terrible at taking pictures lately, so fortunately I remembered to take a couple of shots before my family left.

Please Please!

Okay you adoring Quinn fans, I'm going to attempt to be a better mommy blogger. I apologize from keeping you all from your favorite redhead, but Mama's been busy/swamped/stressed/you name it.

Anyway, Quinn was very excited to eat her favorite vegetable tonight, so I thought I would share Miss Quinn's rockin' manners.

And she doesn't just say please to the peas. We've got this chick trained to be polite. Perhaps it's because it's one of the four signs/twenty words in her repertoire, but we'll take it either way. Here she is high-flying at the Koopmans pool last Sunday.

Little Drummer Girl

Today's post shows off a couple of Quinn's great birthday presents. She really was a lucky girl on her 1st birthday and received so many amazing presents. No repeats, all cute and all perfect for her. On Sunday she wore her ridiculously adorable dress from the Wittrocks and had so much fun drumming with her music set from the Bemis family. Thanks for adding to the fun (and cuteness) you guys!

Outdoor Time

It's hotter than Hades outside but we're making the most of it at Monroe Court! This weekend we got a new patio set, a family of Adirondack chairs and Quinn helped water (and pick) our flowers from G.G. And if you're questioning the amount of humidity we have here in Io-way, just check out the haze in photo #2. When I brought the camera up from downstairs it was clouded over for minutes!

This last shot might not have sweet Quinn, but I just had to show you all our new patio set. Hope you all had a fun and COOL weekend!

Swimming Videos!

I mentioned a couple posts back how Quinn loves the water. Well I managed to capture a couple videos of she & Jay in the lake on my iphone (I'm so fancy now, I know). Here they are for your viewing pleasure:

Diggin' Daycare

It's been kind of a tough transition for us to move Quinn from hanging at home with Morgan to attending full-time daycare. We've known it's a good thing for her socialization and development, but it's still been an adjustment. I think we've got it down now though. Last week Quinn has been ready to go to "school" in the mornings and is a happy girl when we pick her up. She's learned 4 sign language signs from daycare and Daddy even got a Father's Day craft. She has great teachers who love to play with her hair. Just check out these pigtails! The one thing I'm still getting used to? She's a MESS when she comes home! But as long as our messy girl is a happy messy girl it's a-okay!

Lake Time with Quinnie

Hello everyone, long time no blog! It's been busy in the Syverson house, but that doesn't mean we haven't been having fun with our favorite red-head!

We had an amazing time in Alexandria to celebrate the 4th of July. Quinn absolutely LOVED the water and had so much fun with her grandparents and Alex friends. She has no fear of the water and whenever we would take her out she would say & sign "more!"

Grandma Nan was great at playing in the lake with her and Grandpa Gary let her drive the boat!

So happy swimming with Daddy! Below is our attempt to get a picture of her in her 4th of July outfit (failed to remember last year and she had the cutest outfit from Julie!).

All that sun and fun can sure wear a girl (and Daddy!) out!
