Baby Steps

We're getting closer to this whole walking thing! Last night we had a few "baby steps." Exciting stuff here in the Syverson house!

Here's the baby stepper in action:

And one of our happy little girl! Doesn't she look like quite the little sassafrass?

Chattin' with Quinn

Lately Quinn has been doing this funny trick where we ask her to say "dada" and she says "mama" instead. She started doing it again the other night, but then when we pulled out the camera she had a mind of her own. We found it pretty entertaining either way.

Warning: Aunt Dani, don't watch this video in class! :)

Acrobat Baby

We've mentioned before that Quinn is quite mobile now and she's also fearless. Those two things come in handy for her latest adventure: climbing over the furniture. She loves to be upside-down and has absolutely no fear of falling. Here are the latest shots of our acrobatic baby. Don't worry, Dad was being a safe spot and had hold of at least one foot at all times!

Quinn's Big Morning

It's not even noon and it's already been a busy morning for Quinn Marie. She slept great and woke up in happy spirits, but right before we were ready to leave for our playdate she fell on her little face and cracked her lip open. A quick call to Erin Bemis calmed me down and a few wet washcloths and some Tylenol helped little Quinn. Now she just has a fat upper lip to show for her adventures.

Once we had a clean shirt on our little button and something nice to chew on we were ready for playdate fun. Here she is playing with her gal pal Lucy Louise.

And here are all the kiddos together (Will on the left, Ben on the right). Aren't they all just precious? Friends forever! :)

Look at Will & Quinn in their matching yellow and blue! Coincidentally they also both have facial injuries. Will with stitches and Q with her fat lip -- what tough (and cute!) bambinos they are!

After all that fun with the Bemis Boys and Lucy Lu, Quinn was tuckered out. It had been quite the morning!

A blast from the past

Today we bring you a blast from the Quinn Marie past. I stumbled upon this when I was uploading last post's photo and was amazed by how much our little girl has changed.

This was when she was just four months old (and back when we thought the Vikings stood a chance this season). We hope you enjoy a look-back on sweet little Quinn!

Mid-week love from our Sweet-Pea!

It's been a busy week so far in the Syverson house! Mama's been busy working and Quinn's been busy being Quinn. She's learned how to shake her head no and is working on yet another tooth. Therefore, she constantly has something in her mouth (more than usual, if you can believe it) and we didn't have the best night of sleep last night. But sleep or no sleep, she's still as cute as can be!

Last night she got to play with her bestie Alivia Grefe (while mom & dad enjoyed massages!) and tomorrow we're looking forward to a playdate tomorrow with Lucy Wittrock and the Bemis Boys. And the other exciting thing about tomorrow? Basketball starts again! Hooray for all of us!

The Baby Bear

Uncle E loves to narrate Quinn's life as a "baby cub" in his Crocodile Hunter voice. Well it's too bad he wasn't hear today because Quinn really looks like a baby bear in her snuggly little outfit. I'll have to do my best to fill in for him. Just picture the following in an Aussie accent. :)

Here's the baby bear with the mama bear. Not so sure what she thinks of that smelly mama bear.

The baby cub is trying her hand at walkin'. Getting ready to explore on her own.

Now the baby bear encounters the Millie pug. She eyes the Millie pug carefully as she tries to protect her own baby cub. She warns the Millie pug, "Don't you lay a paw my bear cub!"

Girl Time!

This weekend was the Coffman Girls' Weekend and what a weekend it was! Aunt Dani came to spend part of her spring break with us and luckily G.G. came too!

We shopped, watched basketball and just enjoyed watching Miss Quinn Marie. She got to show off her new standing skills and made us laugh hysterically playing with Mildred and shaking her head "no" when we asked her if she would say "dada." (No offense to Jay of course!)

Here's a pic of all the girls as we prepared to cheer on the Jayhawks in their first tournament win. Notice how Mildred had to be in the picture too!

As I mentioned we shopped a lot and we even had a fun night out on the town, but we had the most fun just girl-talking and hanging out with our favorite little girl. How many Coffman girls does it take to feed Quinn a bottle?

Three!

We're so glad Aunt Dani is moving closer to us, so she can see her auntie more frequently and can't wait for our next family girl time! Thanks Auntie Dan and G.G. for a great weekend! We love you!

The Battle over the Bear

Quinn absolutely loves to play with Millie. And now she absolutely loves to play with Millie's bear. We try not to let her get it in her mouth (ew!), but we do encourage the banter between the two of them. We just can't help ourselves, it's downright hilarious!

Quinn Marie is 9 months old!

Our little button is 9 months old today! My how time flies!

It's been a busy month for Miss Quinn Marie. Sadly, she was sick for half the month, but the rest of the time was full of fun. She is jabbering a TON! She frequently says Mama, Dada, and a whole bunch of other sounds that are just too darn cute. She’s also trying so desperately to stand and is walking around everything. I don’t think it will be long ‘til she’s standing all on her own!

She is quite the multi-tasker and is very determined. She still loves the game peek-a-boo and our new way to distract her during a diaper change is to sing “Little Bunny Foo-Foo.” (Might be a little inappropriate with the whole “bopping on the head” thing, but she just loves it.) Her favorite toys are her music table, dinosaur, Mildred and the skeeball machine. She continually makes us smile and we just love watching her grow!

Cruisin'

Apparently they call walking around stuff "cruising" in parenting world. Well Quinn certainly is cruisin' all over the place then. She walks all around the furniture and from one toy to another. Possibly the most fun is watching her cruise with her dinosaur.

Oh the wine!

The "Wall of Wine" narrated by Quinn Marie Syverson:

"Wow, that sure is a lot of wine. It's so mesmerizing."

"What, mom & dad? I'm not up to anything!"

"They told me no, but I really think I should go for it."

"Oh who cares what they say, I'm going to play!"

Hair!

Quinn's hair has been growing a lot lately. Now she finally has enough hair for us to do the mandatory "crazy hair bath time photos." She doesn't look too thrilled, but trust us, she loved it!

TGIF!

Happy Friday from Quinn!

Climb Every Mountain

I know we've said it many times before, but this little girl is on the go! Keeping up with her is a lot of fun, but it can be a workout too! She's always trying to tackle new things and today it was the stairs. She's climbed up a few stairs before, but today she did the whole darn thing... multiple times!

Picture Day!

Today was Picture Day for Quinn Marie! We went to the Botanical Center to have her NINE MONTH pictures taken! Such a big girl! I think the photo shoot went very well, but we'll get the proof on Saturday. (I can't wait!)

My intention was to take a few shots at the Botanical Center to give everyone a sneak preview, however I was a little too busy making sure she didn't eat the mulch or jump in with the goldfish, so that didn't quite happen. Instead, we took some shots at home. Look at this silly grin!

She likes to move her jaw up and down in really funny manner, and this photo was taken during that. Pretty silly! And here she is just being goofy playing with her favorite dollies from Grandma Nan and Great-Grandma Marcella.

Because of the photo shoot in the middle of the day I didn't work very much today, so I had a lot of fun playing with Miss Quinn Marie. Her personality is back 100% and she is full of new things to make me laugh all the time. I just can't get enough of her! (Can you blame me?)

Video Time!

Hello, hello! No time for new photos yet this week, so here's a little video to share from Saturday. Listen carefully and you'll find out how she got that mark on her face!

Weekend Update with Quinn Marie Syverson

So it's been an eventful few days since Wednesday. We'll start with Thursday. I still wasn't feeling great about this cough of hers, so we booked an appointment with the doc. And good thing we did because it was more than just a cold. I didn't get a proper name for the infection, but it was an ear-nose-and-throat thing that awarded Quinn with her very first antibiotic. (Auntie D confirmed that it was legit. Baby Z-Pac to the layman.)

The double-bummer about her being sick for three weeks straight? She was contagious so we had to cancel our trip up to Minnesota to meet Quinn's cousin Zoe. So sad!

Lucky for us the Baby Z-Pac worked like a charm and Quinn's spirits were back in no time. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

It's so nice to see those big blue eyes bright and happy again!

In with the Cold, Out with the Flu

It's been a few days since there's been a blog post and for that I apologize. But I must say, mama's been swamped. But I don't want Quinn Marie's loyal fan base to go too long without seeing new pictures of her beautiful face, so here's the update!

Sunday we kicked the stomach bug. Hallelujah! But then immediately following that we've had a nasty cold. I was THIS close to calling the doc today, but I think she's doing a little bit better. Her cough isn't quite as frequent, but it still breaks my heart every time I hear it. And basically as long as we're always armed with a Kleenex we're okay. We had to cancel our playdate for tomorrow, but hopefully she'll be in good shape to meet her cousin Zoe this weekend.

The great thing is that her lively personality is coming back. We've heard a lot of squeals tonight and she's been saying "mama" over and over which makes one of her parents especially happy. :)

Here's a video of her the other night on one of her favorite toys. She likes to turn on the lights & music by "kissing" the buttons and it cracks us up. (Please forgive me, I had my finger over the mic for most of it. One of these days I'll get that darn video feature down!)

She also is feeling well enough to cheer on the Jayhawks tonight (except she doesn't cheer for the Morris boys when they throw elbows. The girl might be young, but she has her morals).

And finally, here's Quinn with her new favorite plaything -- our treadmill. At least someone's using it!
