Baa Baa Black Sheep

Quinn's been into the music lately and she has a favorite song. She'll request it out of the blue or when prompted. She's also got some sweet dance moves.

How can you not love this girl?!

Jayhawk Generations

Quinn needed a new shirt after a slightly messy lunch, so Jay picked out one of the best hand-me-downs ever: my old KU shirt.

One of my mom's besties bought me this awesome Jayhawk tee when I was a baby. However, I was little and didn't know any better, so I "cheered" for K-State like my Grandad. So she put a little patch on the back that said "I'm really for K-State but someone loves me at KU." Luckily I wised up quick and am now Jayhawk through and through, just like little Quinn!

Fun on the Farm

Jay is at an overnight golf tournament, and you know what they say, "When Jay's away, the girls will play!" So Quinn and I joined the Bemis crew at Center Grove Orchard just south of Ames. What an awesome place!

There were tons of fun farm animals for the kids to check out including horses, goats, ducks, turkeys and more.

There also were a ton of nursery rhyme-inspired playthings throughout the grounds. Quinn loved the Humpty Dumpty wall and started dancing as we recited the rhyme to her.

There also was a whole area with all the Three Little Pigs' houses. It was SO cute. Here's Quinn in the house made out of straw.

Look at these kissin' pigs!

There also was a barn with a "corn pool." Yes, a whole area filled with corn for the kiddos to "swim" in. Quinn loved it!

We can't wait to go back to Center Grove Orchard to explore and play some more! (But we brought back a yummy apple pie to enjoy in the meantime!)

15 months!

Quinn Marie turned 15 months old yesterday and her world is full of new things!

Today was her first day at Generation Next daycare. It will definitely be a transition for the first week or so, but she did really well! Her teachers are fantastic and we are very confident in the entire staff.

We weren't able to get a "first day of school" pic this morning, but we did snap a few photos this evening while we were playing downstairs. She such a sweet (and silly!) little girl!

A New Chapter for Quinn

For those of you who keep up with my Facebook shenanigans you know yesterday was a crazy day in Quinn's childcare world. Our teachers at her daycare went on strike for not being paid. It was an insane and mentally exhausting day, but I think it was a blessing in disguise. Her teachers loved her at her old daycare, but it didn't ever quite meet my expectations. Now, after interviewing 3 daycare facilities I am confident we have found the right place for Quinn. It is bright, cheerful and brand-new. It seems very professionally run and the teachers and curriculum all seem great. Tomorrow is her first day, so wish our 15-month old well! I'm just hoping the transition is okay for her. Once we get past that, I know she will be so happy at Generation Next!

Good Eats

We went out to a neighborhood pizza joint tonight and ordered Quinn some mac & cheese. I would say she liked it.

Production note: she ate the majority of her meal sitting like a good girl in her chair. We kept thinking she was done, so this video is taken after cleaning her up, taking her out of the highchair and moving the food away. Clearly she found the bowl and took care of what was left.
