Bemis Love

We've got some major Bemis love going on in our house, especially when it comes to Quinn. A couple weeks ago we had the Bemis clan over for a family night complete with a mac & cheese bar. The kids had a ton of fun (and let's be honest, so did the parents). We played skee-ball, Ring-Around-the-Rosie, read books and hugged. Lots of hugs. Here are a few pics from the night.

Big Quinn sandwich with Josie and Ben.

All three little ones in the toybox. (Look closely for William down there. And yes, Quinn pulled her pigtails out. Again.)

Will with his "best friend" Mildred. Millie's feeling the love.

When it was time to go, the kids changed into PJs and gave hugs goodbye...and kisses too. Here's Quinn going after Ben.

And don't forget a kiss for Will too!

And big hugs!

And here Quinn is with her mentor, the one and only, Josie Bemis.

Thanks for the fun night, Beemers! We love you guys!

Weekend Highlights

I had such a fun weekend with Quinn and Jay! Grandpa Gary had a big party for his birthday, but we had to stay in town for this article I was doing for the Register. We certainly made the most of it! Friday Quinn dressed for the Jayhawks in preparation for their first NCAA tourney game of the season. We had "happy hour" at the Bemis house then sushi at home. (Quinn had a more kid-friendly meal.) Then while Quinn was sleeping the Jayhawks got their first tournament win. Woo hoo!

Saturday morning we started off St. Patty's Day with breakfast at PerkUp Cafe and Quinn got a little leprechaun kiss. She loved it!

After breakfast we went on a long walk to two "secret" playgrounds and then Jay and I had a date night and Q got to hang with one of her favorite babysitters, Anna.

Sunday morning started off with a good breakfast at home then church where Quinn unknowingly stole the show. She applauded and yelled "YAY" during a break in a pretty serious song and made the whole congregation laugh. So cute, but a little embarrassing when it's your little one. :)

After church we went to Wakonda for lunch and golf. Quinn made friends with everyone in the Lower Grill and even got her first taste of lemonade.

We played four holes of golf and she was fantastic. She loved playing in the cart and giving us more balls on the course. (I pulled out a few pink balls and she was a very happy girl.)

After a nap for our sweet girl we had dinner al fresco, played outside and then cheered on the Jayhawks with the Krizmanics. Such a fun weekend with beautiful weather and my beautiful girl!

My Girl

This picture pretty much sums up Quinn these days. She's into accessories and tonight it was the shades. (She wanted Mommy's in the car, but we got home and found her own instead.) And being a typical toddler, she's got to have a snack in her hands. Tonight it was Cheerios.

See those dirty knees? That's from falling down. Over and over again. It seems Quinn has a case of the clumsies lately. (And it's very frequently that her stumbling makes her look like she's been imbibing.) And the shoes. Oh, the shoes. She has gotten quite picky about what shoes she wears. The boots are definitely out, so now the options are red shoes, black shoes, white shoes and now these pink shoes. Unfortunately these pink shoes are too big, so if she takes a step they fall off. Daddy was instructed to hide these shoes tonight. Let's hope he was successful.

And that smile. That smile melts my heart and makes my day.

Fashion Show!

We went shopping today and bought some clothes for Quinn as well as for some friends. When we got home Quinn modeled her new stuff for us. I think she's ready for summer because she loves her new hat and did not want to take off her swimsuit! (Hence the blue stripes under the white shirt in some of the pics below.)

This skirt is too big, but the pic is too cute!

Rascal!

Fancy Girl

When we got home tonight Quinn had to immediately change into her new red shoes, necklaces and sunglasses. I love my fancy girl!

A Pretty Pedicure!

Today after we cut Quinn's toenails, I decided it would be fun to put a little polish on them too. She picked out a fun hot pink color and sat so still on Daddy's lap. I'm not sure what Jay thinks about his little girl having nail polish on already, but it Quinn thought it was fun and it looks so cute!

Now that her nails are painted we've learned to stop calling them "hot" pink. She thinks her toes are really hot and it freaks her out a little bit. :) Also, speaking of hot, check out Jay's sweet cheeseburger pants! (Thanks Erin & Billy!)

Justin Roberts Concert!

This weekend was the Des Moines Symphony Academy's annual Justin Roberts concert, Pajama-Rama. Quinn has been to two Justin Roberts concerts before, but this is the first time she's attended that she's been old enough to really get into it.

For those of you who don't know, Justin Roberts is the best kiddie rocker around. And because I've planned this concert for 6 years, Quinn has been listening to Justin's music since day one and now she is one huge fan. As soon as we get in the car these days, she says "Justin Roberts!" (It used to be Beethoven, but he's had to take a backseat to these sweet kiddie tunes the last few weeks.)

Papa, GG and Uncle E all came to town especially for the concert and tons of Quinn's friends were there too: the Bemis kids (Josie, Will & Ben), Annabel Koopmans, Alivia Grefe and even the Peterson girls, Ellie & Grace! We all had SO much fun, especially Quinn. It is a fabulous concert and it warms my heart to see Quinn enjoying it so much!

Here she is in her seat waiting for the concert to start.

At first she sat on Uncle E's lap just taking everything in...

And then she stood up to get closer to the action.

Family pic!

Quinn couldn't be pulled away from the music for a photo op.

Mommy & Quinnie!

Saying hi to Justin Roberts after the show.
